Modern Family

If you are not watching this show, you should start IMMEDIATELY!

Here are my favorite quotes from tonight!

Phil [to Manny]: Nice moustache
Jay: Don't make fun of him or he'll burn your house down

Gloria: I'm taking a shower, would you like to join me?
Jay: Honey, you know there's a gun in the footlocker in the garage, if I ever say no, I want you to use it on me

Cameron: There's a fish in nature that swims around with its babies in its mouth. That fish would look at Mitchell's relationship with his mother and say, "That's messed up."

I love everything about this show.

Oh... and day 1 of running was a complete success! woo hoo!!!

workin on my fitness

Tomorrow I am starting my quest for 40 minutes of running. I am using the couch to 5k plan.

This is what I do tomorrow!

"Brisk five-minute warmup walk. Then alternate 60 seconds of jogging and 90 seconds of walking for a total of 20 minutes."

Sounds easy, but I will probably die/look like this.....

Wish me luck!

Kindle

Reasons I love my Kindle:

1. No more finger cramps from holding my book open
2. Having the New York Times sent to me every morning.. and reading it ANYWHERE!
3. Buying a book the moment it is suggested to me.
4. Having my entire library with me when I travel

I love this little machine. I am usually resistant to all new forms of technology, but this has been borderline life changing. It is on my person at ALL times. Which is impressive considering I only have my cell phone on me about 30% of the time.

In order to show appreciation for my favorite electronic device, I have decided to sport it in a brand new outfit.

I found this little ditty on Etsy...... LOVE

AND it is only 14 dollars!

"Project Adulthood"

The last few years of my life has been a time of amazing changes and challenges. I graduated college, married the love of my life, got my masters degree, and started my first big girl job! Now that I have been through my first few years of official adulthood, I feel as though I am in a great place to stop and evaluate what I want to accomplish before the next big phase of my life (kids/house/etc.). So here my new "phase" resolutions! (at least the ones I will be keeping track of here)

1. Cook 1 new healthy recipe every week.

2. Be able to run for 40 minutes straight.

3. Commit to 1 non television centered date night with my hubby per week.

4. Recognize 1 thing I am thankful for every day

5. Read a book every 2 weeks

6. Being more assertive (hence the strangely aggressive blog title)

So.... here I go! Project adult commences...NOW!

Mission Statement

Hello world! (or 2-3 people that will probably read this) I have decided to plunge into the world of blogging. Since I am usually at least 3-4 years behind in trends, this seems like the perfect time. I tend to do better with structure, so here are the things I hope to accomplish with this thing!

1. Keep myself accountable for "project adulthood."

2. Journal the happenings of my evolving little family!

3. Keep track of the little things in life that bring me joy.

Enjoy!
